Podcasts are also available after the fact.
If you’ve just listened to Chris on Nightwatch, here are some follow up links that were discussed.
We had a lot of fun talking about H.P. Lovecraft tonight, and I’ll get to that in a minute, but, I want to talk about the West Memphis Three first. If you aren’t familiar with the case, please educate yourself about it.
And believe it or not Wikipedia in this case has an excellent article on the subject:
I also invite you to google and do your own research.
At wm3.org, you can donate directly to any of the guys individual defense funds. But from now until April 1, 2009 100% of the profits for Ophelia and Other Weird Tales will go to the WM3 and it will be split evenly among the defense funds for Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley, and Jason Baldwin.

Please order from Createspace as I will be able to donate the most from sales there, but, here are the other links as well:
Now let me be clear on some things. I’m not trying to use this tragedy to be a media whore and sell my book. In fact, it’d be better to donate directly at wm3.org. But a lot of folks like to get the tote bag when they support PBS, so, here is the ‘tote bag’ I can offer. The links to purchase Ophelia are above, I suggest you get it directly from the publisher, Createspace, because when amazon or target or any bookstore sells it, the reseller takes a little for itself. That’s fine, that’s how they stay in business, but in this case it will mean less money leftover that I can forward to the defense funds. That said, I understand a lot of people love and trust amazon, so, all the purchase links are included. Also note, Amazon has still not enabled the search inside feature, so, you can still read story excerpts below in earlier blog posts. And let me be clear on one more thing. I am not affiliated with the wm3 defense fund. I’m just doing this as a citizen so my opinions are not those of the guys themselves or wm3.org.

I’ll even go one better. If you donate $100 or more at wm3.org and can send me some evidence of this during the period until April 1, and you’re willing to pay the backwards and forwards shipping on a copy of Ophelia, I will give you a personalized autograph on your copy. And the first person to donate $2,500 at wm3.org and send evidence, will have a character (a desirable character) named after him or herself in the next Ophelia Mythos book. To my fellow horror authors, Stephen, Anne, Clive, Dean, and Neil, I’ve thrown my hat in the ring. How about matching my offer in the name of a good cause? And any entity out there willing to match funds, please contact my representatives at ahriman@hell.com

One last thing I’ll say is that Barack Obama has the power to overturn this with the executive pardon power. You can email him at president@whitehouse.gov but you can also use the links at http://www.congress.org/ to find your senators, representatives, and hit them with phone calls and old fashioned snail mail letters. And I encourage you to write a real snail mail letter to Barack:
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington, DC 20502

And lastly, if anyone has the President’s ear, or the ear of someone who has his ear, or similar, please, get this matter in front of him. Can we free the West Memphis Three? Yes, we can.
Now I’ll step off my port-a-pulpit:
Learn a little more about H. P. Lovecraft here:
Buy some H. P. Lovecraft fiction online:
The copyright has run out on nearly all of HPL’s fiction, and much of it can be read online completely free of charge:
S. T. Joshi was probably the leading and most unbiased scholar on Lovecraft’s life and biography
Purchase the dread Necronomicon online:
The “Simon” Necronomicon
The “Skoob” Books Edition by George Hay
I think we presented a fair and balanced (go ahead and sue me, Fox News! Yeah I just used the phrase you tried to trademark) view of the two versions of the Necronomicon’s historicity or non-historicity as it were on the show tonight: But here are some links to the more extreme camps on both sides:
The True Believers:
The Radical Rationalists:
(Now if you’ve read through all of this, I’ll admit there is a real Necronomicon. I lied on the show to keep it secret. There is only one copy and it's… Oh, god… WHAT IS THAT THING OUTSIDE MY WINDOW…
